Claire Lincoln-White
Claire is a Co-Founder of New Link Consulting and is responsible for Client Relationship Management and Delivery Oversight as well as leading the Non-Financial Risk Management Practice. With over 20 years of industry experience in the financial services sector, she is an experienced change manager in delivering complex programmes as well as a recognised expert in operational risk and control. Claire’s prior consultancy experience emanates from the Derivatives Consulting Group and Sapient Global Markets. There, Claire led the Business Consulting service which developed and delivered process solutions for clients. This included leading an industry-wide PMO, working with market utilities and major market participants to drive regulatory compliance in the derivatives industry.
In addition to large scale delivery programmes, Claire’s consulting experience includes developing sales strategies and business development. Prior to moving into the Consultancy sector, Claire held senior positions in a number of major financial services institutions, including the London Stock Exchange, JP Morgan and the Royal Bank of Scotland. These included Head of Operational Risk (Investment Banking), Head of Business Management and Control (Global Operations) and Head of Change Management (Derivative Operations). Coupling her change and control expertise means that Claire has significant success in delivering large scale change programmes, designing and implementing target state operating models, and driving front to back process and control reviews and remediation. Her expertise has been instrumental in developing, managing and implementing risk frameworks for her clients, in order to help mitigate and manage operational risks.
David Newland
David is a Co-Founder of New Link Consulting and is responsible for Business Strategy. He has over 30 years of experience working in the financial services industry, covering all asset classes of derivatives and structured products. In key leadership roles at Bank of America and Royal Bank of Scotland he was instrumental in overseeing the implementation of new technology systems, product development and delivering several major change programs.
Before moving into consultancy, David was the Head of Derivative Operations at Royal Bank of Scotland, globally responsible for all middle and back office operation teams. David was also head of ‘Innovation’ for the Global Banking and Markets business. David’s main consulting experience was gained at the Derivatives Consulting Group and Sapient Global Markets. During his tenure at Sapient he led the Process Solution division globally, which delivered business consulting and operational services to clients. More recently David has been operating as the lead Programme Manager for a complex Derivatives Regulation Remediation project.
Alongside his client work, David has also been instrumental in executing the company’s strong growth and business strategy. A blend of financial and consultancy experience, mixed with a passion for innovation, means that David can offer a wide range of knowledge and advice to clients, from organisational design, integrating innovation and managing complex change programmes.
Richard Spencer
Richard joined New Link Consulting as part of the acquisition of Eclipse Business Consulting in February 2018. Richard has spent over 20 years working in the financial services industry. After graduating from Bath and Cambridge universities (Mathematical Economics), he started his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he operated in their Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking divisions.
During this period Richard gained significant experience in areas as diverse as retail distribution, marketing & analytics, payments & cash management, trade finance, card processing and a large number of financial services products. In the last three years of his tenure at Accenture, Richard specialised in the Capital Markets division, where his exposure included stock exchange trading and client connectivity challenges, numerous systems integration programmes, asset management distribution, Euro and Y2K preparations.
Tom Masters
Tom has been a Partner at New Link Consulting since March 2014 and is Head of our Regulation and Best Banking Practice service. He is a senior consultant with extensive knowledge of programme management, business integration and banking regulations. Having worked on a variety of projects across the globe, Tom is able to draw upon experience of delivering complex business and regulatory driven change initiatives across a number of different institutions.
Before taking up his position at New Link Consulting, Tom spent five years at the Royal Bank of Scotland where he ran large scale front to back projects. These included preparing the bank for the Dodd Frank legislation, during which he represented the bank on various ISDA working groups and Industry Governance forums, and managing the integration of the Royal Bank of Scotland rates and credit businesses in Europe and APAC following the ABN AMRO acquisition, the world’s largest bank merger to date.
Tom was originally a consultant with the Derivatives Consulting Group, where he worked with a number of different investment banks and financial services companies in both their trading and operations functions building up a detailed understanding of the OTC derivatives market and associated trade processing models and challenges.
